Lexington Jiu-Jitsu & Fitness Membership Agreement

Agreement made on the 05/07/2024, between Gentlemen’s Jiu Jitsu, LLC. referred to herein as the Lexington Jiu-Jitsu & Fitness(Gentlemen’s Jiu Jitsu), and

1. Membership Fees
All fees and schedules are subject to change. There are no refunds for membership fees. Membership fees include Kentucky State sales tax built into the final price.  The member's credit card will be charged monthly according to the membership option.

All membership packages rates are per calendar month, paid monthly, on or around the second day of each month.
Dues for the initial month will be pro-rated and are due upon signing the membership agreement.

2. Three-Day Right of Rescission

New members have three days after signing this Agreement to cancel their membership without penalty. If the Agreement is cancelled within three days, Lexington Jiu-Jitsu & Fitness will return all amounts paid (in the same manner paid) within 30 days after cancellation. If original payment was by credit card, the amount paid will be credited to the card used for the original transaction. To cancel, new members must come into Lexington Jiu-Jitsu & Fitness and inform the office manager of their wishes to cancel.


3. Freeze Policy

Members may put their membership on freeze, in one calendar month increments, for up to three calendar months per year for a fee of $10 per month. Notice of freeze must be given to Lexington Jiu-Jitsu & Fitness in person any time during business hours prior to the first day of the month to be frozen. Members will be billed for membership at the reduced rate of $10 a month during frozen months. Billing will resume automatically upon end of freeze. If a member would like to resume attendance earlier than the specified freeze date, fees will be pro-rated and will be due upon the day that the student recommences.


4. Late Payment / Declined Credit Card Fees

A late payment/declined credit card fee of $30 will be charged on any payment past due. Membership fees must be paid on or before the first day of the month.


5. Cancellation of Membership by Member

A member may voluntarily cancel his/her membership at any time with 30-days notice prior to the billing date. Exceptions to the 30-day rule include if they move more than 50 miles further than the address listed on their membership application, provided the member notifies Lexington Jiu-Jitsu & Fitness of the move prior to the first of the month in which the move is to occur. Any member who suffers a physical disability that will prevent him or her from using the facility for more than six months will not be charged a cancellation fee as long as the cancellation is accompanied by a doctor's note documenting the injury and prognosis. Members may cancel memberships by notifying Lexington Jiu-Jitsu & Fitness of their wish to cancel in person, any time during business hours 30 days prior to the billing date. There are no refunds for membership fees, and Lexington Jiu-Jitsu & Fitness will not prorate a cancelled membership.

6. Attire

Appropriate training apparel is required to train as a member of Lexington Jiu-Jitsu & Fitness. Close fitting athletic shirts and pants (a.k.a) rash guards and spats, shorts without pockets and traditional gis are recommended. To maintain a hygienic environment, all athletic gear must be laundered prior to class, every time.  

7. Footware

Shoes are prohibited on the mats yet are required off the mats. If students do not wish to be barefoot, socks or wrestling shoes are permitted, provided they they are clean and reserved only for wear on the mat. Shoes are required for trips to the bathroom, entering and exiting the gym.

8. Hygiene

Members are required to maintain a grooming standard for the health and safety of fellow members. Members are required to shower within 12 hours or less of class time, and keep nails trimmed. Any open wound must be disinfected and covered with athletic tape when on the mats. In the event that a member contracts a contagious illness, they are required to stay off the mats for a minimum of 48 hours or until safe; please contact the head coach to discuss further protocols.

9. Conduct

Lexington Jiu-Jitsu & Fitness is committed to the health, safety, welfare of each of its members and staff and will not tolerate unreasonable, threatening, obscene, harassing, indecent, or illegal behavior. Lexington Jiu-Jitsu & Fitness has the right to judge behavior and respond accordingly. This right includes, but is not limited to, termination of membership of any member engaging in unacceptable behavior.

10. Damages

Members shall pay for any damages to Lexington Jiu-Jitsu & Fitness property which results from the willful or negligent conduct of member, member's guest or dependent children.

11. Lost Articles

Lexington Jiu-Jitsu & Fitness assumes no responsibility for lost or stolen articles. Lost and found articles not claimed will be donated to charity on the last calendar day of each month.

12. Smoking, Food and Drink.

Smoking is prohibited in all parts of the facility, including the parking lot.

No food may be consumed on the mats. Non-breakable water bottles are permitted around the perimeter of the mats.  

13. Children

Members must be 8 years of age or older unless supervised by a parent or legal guardian at all times. Guest/Visitors under the age of 8 must be supervised by a parent or legal guardian at all times.


14. Use of Photo and Video

Lexington Jiu-Jitsu & Fitness, its representatives and employees have the right to take photographs of Member and Member's property whilst training with Lexington Jiu-Jitsu & Fitness.

Lexington Jiu-Jitsu & Fitness is authorized to use and publish these photos or videos in print and/or electronically. Lexington Jiu-Jitsu & Fitness may use such photographs of Member with or without Member's name and for any lawful purpose, including for example such purposes as publicity, illustration, advertising, and web content.


15. Rules and/or Regulations

Members who do not observe Lexington Jiu-Jitsu & Fitness rules and regulations or who abuse equipment in any fashion will be asked to leave. The management reserves the right to terminate membership to anyone who refuses to observe any of Lexington Jiu-Jitsu & Fitness rules or regulations. Not all rules and regulations are listed in this agreement. Lexington Jiu-Jitsu & Fitness reserves the rights to add, change or remove rules, conditions of membership, opening and closing hours, and all services and facilities offered by Lexington Jiu-Jitsu & Fitness


16. Miscellaneous

a. This Agreement contains the entire agreement between the parties, and supersedes any prior written or oral agreements between them concerning the subject matter of this Agreement. The provisions of this may be waived, altered, amended or repealed, in whole or in part, only upon prior written consent of all parties. This agreement shall be governed by the laws of the State of Kentucky without regard to the principles of conflict of laws thereof and treated as a contract entirely made and execute within Kentucky.


b. Member has read, and fully agrees to the term of this Agreement and understands this Agreement (which contains a waiver, release and assumption of risks). Member has given up considerable future legal rights. Member has signed this Agreement freely, voluntarily, under no duress or threat of duress, without inducement, promise or guarantee being communicated to him/her. Member certifies and warrants that he/she is 18 years of age or older and mentally competent to enter into this Agreement.
